True Love In The Vineyards

J&P got married last weekend in the shade of the Lausanne trees. I would like to congratulate them again wholeheartedly. I am really happy for them. They had a wonderful wedding under a radiant sun, surrounded by their loved ones and a great team of service providers! But I’ll tell you more about that later! … Their engagement photo shoot was…”True Love In the Vineyards”. I met them in June in the vineyards of Lavaux for their engagement shooting.

I organize a photo shoot with the future bride and groom a few weeks or months before their wedding.  It allows us to get to know each other better, to get used to the camera and to relax! Fortunately, there are some that are more comfortable with the camera. But one thing is guaranteed… we always end up laughing and having a good time! We shared this good time at sunset, between Lausanne and the Swiss Riviera, in the small village of Epesses, and then by the lake near Saint-Saphorin, in the beautiful vineyards of the Lavaux. J&P expressed their love for each other during this sweet moment!

Satin & Nude Boudoir

Satin & Nude Boudoir… took place in the spring on the Vaud Riviera. She is a beautiful, yet simple, mother and wife… She contacted me to take boudoir pictures for her husband’s birthday. A gift to give… isn’t that a good reason to treat yourself?

She welcomed me in her home, a beautiful apartment overlooking Lake Geneva. We shared a tea and talked about the outfits she wanted to wear and the pictures that inspired her. Then we gently started the shoot. She chose cosy but feminine outfits and we decided on the bedroom. Movement. Sensuality. Softness. She changed her outfit for something a little more undressed, we stayed in the bedroom, then moved to the living room, playing with the sheets, the light, the walls, and the background. New change of lingerie. We go back to the living room, then to the bedroom. The bed is a beautiful playground. We suggest in a subtle way, we underline small details. We laugh, we smile… And we end the session in a nice atmosphere. We share for about 2 hours, naked under my lens and my benevolent eye.

A romantic and rustic wedding

Last week, I published some pictures of the engagement shooting of Marielle & Simon, a gentle moment of love. I wanted to continue this romantic journey with their wedding, a romantic and rustic wedding in the Jura mountains.

Initially scheduled for September 14, 2019, a happy surprise forced the young couple to move up their wedding date to June 15, 2019. It was a very sweet, small, simple wedding with only the people the newlyweds love the most.

The pretty little house where Marielle & Simon recently moved in is divided in two. Preparations took place in the same place! The challenge was to avoid seeing each other before the ceremony!!!! The groom’s preparations took place in a small circle. Simon’s witnesses took care of him in great spirits.

Marielle’s preparations on her side of the house are a little more intense and take place in a living room with shades of powdered pink and white. Her sisters and her mother help her get dressed and make her giggle with their infectious laughter.

We then head for the castle of Valangin where the ceremony that will officially unite the two bride and groom will take place. I join the guests and the groom at the top of this fortified castle. He seems a little stressed despite his smile!

It was a ceremony full of emotions. The handkerchiefs were out! I was a little teary eyed too… But fortunately Dédé was there to cheer me up.   The bride and groom left the castle surrounded by bubbles and cheers.

After the group photos we went to the small shooting range recently converted into a small party room. I was dreading the place to be honest. It was very dark and cramped and I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to find a way to show off the bride and groom, their loved ones and their wedding night. I loved the view from the shooting range and what a nice surprise inside! The decoration was soft and delicate, full of light… the best thing is to let you discover the pictures!

Yellow Flowers & Grande Cariçaie

Yellow Flowers & Grande Cariçaie

It’s been a while since I wrote anything on this blog. The week started out quite busy and I got a little overwhelmed. As a result, I must confess that I lost track of what I wanted to share with you. This is why I choose to show you Marielle & Simon’s engagement shoot this week. It’s all about nature, love and happiness.

We met in the Cariçaie nature reserve on the shores of Lake Neuchâtel, near Cudrefin. I must admit that I had never heard of this place. It was a wonderful discovery for me! This is a place where I will bring my family for a walk. There are trails to wander through the woods, walking paths along the canals, bird-watching huts, and reed fields as far as the eye can see. It’s a wonderful place to spend some time alone and do a photo shoot.

We walked for a little more than 2 hours in this wide plain. The lake shore was the scene of hugs, playful bickering, laughter, cuddles and moments of love. It was a beautiful moment of tenderness that I am delighted to share with you…

Once again, I would like to thank this beautiful couple from the bottom of my heart for their kindness, their trust and their warm welcome. I am happy I crossed their path. I also wanted to share with you that Marielle is a jeweller from Neuchâtel and that she makes beautiful wedding rings! This is her website: https://www.mariellegirardin.ch/ Trust me, her work is incredible. You will soon be able to discover the rings she created for her wedding…

First look

Despite coming up with the idea of a Christmas photo shoots last week – by the way don’t forget to book a shoot or offer one to your loved ones – it’s definitely summer! I want to share with you a few pictures of the season’s photo shoots and weddings. Not always easy because I’m always on the run- meaning that I go abroad almost every weekend for crazy weddings! There are photo shoots like this one in between these crazy weddings. An engagement photo shoot a few weeks before the wedding.

The wedding took place last weekend in the Italian Piedmont. It was incredible but I won’t tell you more about it because I’m making a nice report with all the beautiful things that the newly weds prepared for the month of August!

For now, let’s meet this lovely couple in Preverenges, a small town on the shores of Lake Léman, between Lausanne and Morges. There are woods to wander in and beaches to relax on!  I ask couples and future brides and grooms to choose a place where they like to go for a walk on a Sunday. It has to speak to their heart, as a couple. They need to feel confident and comfortable in an environment where they enjoy spending time.

I live nearby and this walk was perfect for a gentle stroll in the sunshine. There weren’t many people on the trail. People were still a little shy to go out in this early spring! As you can see in this White Skulls & Macramés Wedding report, almost 30cm of snow had covered the area the previous Saturday! Enough to catch a big cold! The sun was shining and we enjoyed every single ray!!!!

I wanted to thank these two lovebirds for their confidence and for accepting to share these beautiful pictures of their session. If you ever recognize them, please keep it to yourself because they want to maintain their privacy!

Turkish Gold & Red Skurts Wedding

Hello, friends!!!! Did you have a good weekend? I want to start this week by telling you about a wedding that happened last March. It was incredibly warm for the season and the snow was a little too absent for my taste. But Duygu & Killian weren’t the ones to complain about getting married in the sunshine. Quite the contrary, the sun made the bridesmaids’ outfits shine!

I met the bride and groom in their respective rooms at the Chatonneyre Hotel.  The girls were on one side and the boys on the other. Killian and his friends had their beards trimmed by a professional before getting the groom dressed. The groom gave the boys their presents before popping the champagne! Duygu, the blue-eyed beauty, got ready in the next room. Veronique styled the hair of Duygu, her witness and best friend for many years.  Once the beautiful young woman was dressed, the girls also toasted and received their gifts! A moment rich in emotions.

The bride and groom wanted to discover each other before the ceremony but the hotel, despite having a renovated restaurant and bar, does not have private gardens and a suitable place for a beautiful reveal.  So I took the decision to block the main road and let them discover themselves in front of this Mediterranean-style house. We disturbed the traffic a little but it was successful!

After this intimate and intense moment, we headed for the secular ceremony in the concert hall, which had been converted into a ceremonial hall for the occasion. It’s not easy to choose an officiant but one of their friends did it brilliantly! If you have the budget, should you go with a professional or save some money and choose a friend? But which friend? He has to know you, but not too well, otherwise your tears are sure to pour and disrupt your guests. He also has to be eloquent to avoid putting the audience to sleep. And the hardest part is to make smooth transitions between the interventions. Honestly, their friend did an amazing job! I even think he could switch to another career or even have his own One Man Show!

The departure was made under confetti and a cocktail filled with smiles and laughter was followed by the ribboned bouquet. Have you ever heard of it? Instead of a traditional bouquet toss, which most often ends in a rugby scrum, you can treat all the eligible young girls to a fun moment. You can hang as many ribbons on your bouquet, or a second one, as you have friends who can be proposed to. Your friend, your maid of honor, or a boy also holds your bouquet. You are blindfolded and with your scissors you cut the ribbons as you catch them. The last ribbon will lead you to the one who will be the next to get married.

At the end of the cocktail party, Raphaël Berger’s VW super bus, rented for the occasion, awaited us to take us to the Vaulruz castle. When we arrived, we proceeded quickly before loosing the light for the group shots. Right before the evening started, we managed to take a few pictures of this beautiful couple! Then it was time for the festivities to begin. Duygu is of Turkish origin and they insisted on starting the night with Turkish dances. After dinner, there was entertainment and speeches. The cake was sliced and people danced until early in the morning!

I leave you with this long text and wish you a great week! Don’t hesitate to write me a quick message. See you soon! Thanks a lot to the bride and groom for their trust, their words, and for letting me share their beautiful wedding on my blog.

White Skulls & Macramés Wedding

White Skulls & Macramé wedding is a 100% Fribourg wedding that took place between two seasons! It was last May 4th at the Grande Riedera castle between Bulle and Fribourg.

This timeless place is where Ingrid & François decided to invite their family and friends to get together and celebrate until the end of the night their new life as a couple.

One is an introvert, the other an extrovert. One is more rock n’ roll, the other more bohemian. Happiness in its complementarity. Happiness works in tandem, in complicity. Each has put his or her touch to create a beautiful non-conformist harmony. I am really happy to share with you the photos of a couple which holds a very special place in my heart.

We met on a rainy day in Bulle. It was a year ago to the day. We talked about their wedding for two hours and got to know each other. You have to earn your way into this family of wild wolves. As Ingrid left, she was moved. So was I. We saw each other again and a true friendship began to develop between the two of us.

Then we met again a few months later for their civil wedding. It was at the end of November. It snowed for the first time. We took the opportunity to go up to Charmey to take some pictures of couples before meeting their families in front of the civil registrar in Bulle…

First look

This week we’re changing things a bit and heading over to Romont to babysit. A few weeks after Yoan’s arrival, I went to the Home Sweet Home of a family that is dear to my heart.   Yoan was too tall and energetic to just be put in a basket. So we decided to shoot the present moment instead. Jeremy had not so delicately woken up his son, then after a few hugs, he brought him to the bath. Ophelia joined us to take care of this very lively little boy! His blue eyes didn’t leave me for the whole session. All smiles and babbles.  The weather was bad, so we decided to do indoor portraits, some in the bedroom, a lot on the couch. And then we tried to put Yoan in a basket to do different portraits of him. It was now or never! Yoan was ready to cooperate and thanks to dad’s help, we succeeded!  I wish this little family all the love and happiness in the world. I thank them for their trust and friendship, and also for letting me share some of the pictures of the photo shoot.

Fist look

M contacted me during the Easter holidays, a little embarrassed to ask me if I did portrait photos in a boudoir kind of way. At my age, people don’t seem to understand that I can take pleasure in taking pictures of myself and feel beautiful. Do you still have the right to love yourself after you turn sixty?

That’s actually a good question… At what age should we stop loving each other? Is there an age limit? Are you no longer allowed to be photographed when you have a few wrinkles on your face? That’ s a big question that M. asked me.

Already at the age of 30 I couldn’t stand the sight of myself, so I’m not sure that with the years passing by I will be more kind with myself. But what if I was? Would I be a pro at Instagram selfies? Maybe a little more than what’s going on nowadays… do we stop loving our parents or our partner because they are getting older? No, I don’t think we do. We appreciate the time we have left and love them even more.

Should we do the same with ourselves? With our bodies? That’s not being full our ourselves or narcissistic. I think it’s just loving ourselves the way we love others. Wanting for yourself what you want for others. You want to have pretty pictures of what you love, which means you want pretty pictures of yourself!

So here you go, my 3 favorite pictures of the photo shoot with M. We shared a couple hours filled with happiness. M surrendered from the start, relying on my expertise. She let herself go. That’s what happiness in life is all about for her.

After the photo shoot, I asked her if there were things she would still like to do. Any dreams? She answered that she was happy and that she had enjoyed her life. She said she missed nothing. Well, hearing those words, as a 33-year-old woman, running around for my job, my life as a wife and as a mother, I got a big slap in the face!

Under The Granfey Bridge

{Under The Granfey Bridge} /// The wedding season reopened on May 4th (without much of a winter break, by the way). At the same time, couple shoots are slowly filling up my calendar. B&Y are getting married at the end of next summer and they wanted to take advantage of the spring for a photo walk in their beloved city: Fribourg.

This week, I would like to present you an article about their photo shoot. B&Y are already in the wedding theme by wearing a deep pink, blue, conveying spontaneity and simplicity. We met at the Pont de Granfey at the entrance of Fribourg. This moment that allowed us to get to know each other better. We laughed, talked about the wedding and just had a good time while watching the spring sunset.

I loved the view of the Granfey Bridge that Y loves and the long row of trees that B prefers. The repetitions and depth of the environment, whether natural or architectural, inspired me a lot. There are playgrounds like that you don’t expect. I was thrilled to discover a place I didn’t know but had heard about.

I would like to thank both of them again for their trust. But also for letting me share the pictures of this shoot. I spent a moment full of joy and cheerfulness. I look forward to seeing them again for their wedding!
