C&F’s engagement photo shoot took place during a love hike in the Jogne Gorges! You will soon be able to read an article about their wedding on the lake of Gruyères. I met them this summer at the trail head of the Gorges de la Jogne. Our trek ended at the foot of the beautiful castle of Gruyères. We took advantage of the end of the day lighting and the stillness of the mild summer evenings to do this photo shoot. They were in their love, in their bubble.
Gruyère is where they grew up, live now and work. This is where they’re getting married too. So it made sense to hold their photo shoot in the heart of Gruyères, between Broc and Charmey, in the Jogne Gorges. Did you ever go there? It’s a place we love. We go hiking there at least once a year. We start from the bottom and walk towards the small typical village of Charmey. The path is a lot of fun! You have to go over small suspension bridges, and walk through dark tunnels dug in the rock. The walk ends on the beautiful Montsalvens Lake.
They pose in pairs or alone to get used to the camera, to overcome the awkwardness. I want to make my presence and the experience of being photographed more fun and cool so they feel comfortable on the wedding day! No stress! This is the best way to take the most natural pictures of them! Whatever the conditions, the time and the place. I’ll let you enjoy this beautiful love hike in the Jogne Gorges in the heart of Gruyère.

“A sweet wedding in the vineyards of Asti”. This was the theme of N&G’s beautiful wedding. I was lucky to experience it by their side at the beginning of the summer as a wedding photographer abroad! It was a perfect weekend. A sweet weekend. Nice weather. An enchanting place with incredible landscapes. In Northern Italy. In the Piedmont. The Province of Asti. I told you about this place in my last article. Do you remember? I would like to thank them for their trust, their welcome, their smile and this beautiful experience.
“A sweet wedding in the vineyards of Asti” is an intimate place first and foremost, a small hotel with a breathtaking panoramic view over the vineyards of a region rich in culture and soil. A place where you can enjoy the sweet sunsets of Italy. This also means that there were pizzas on the menu Friday night, as well as antipastis, local products and dishes at the wedding cocktail. The meal was served outdoors in the garden, under the soft light of the setting sun.
This beautiful union in the heart of the vineyards was also a beautiful mix of cultures. Italy, because we were there. But also Switzerland, Germany, Australia. I share with you some pictures of this sweet wedding in the vineyards of Asti. You won’t see their faces, or from far away because they want to maintain their anonymity. Thank you for respecting this choice and for appreciating the pictures that I am going to show you.

“Gold and Ochre in Piedmont” is what I wanted to call this article and series of travel photos. Full of sunshine and warmth, this series from my trip takes us to northern Italy, a region traditionally rooted in wine and agriculture. The province of Asti produces some of my favorite beverages! An elixir for the taste buds: the sparkling white Moscato d’Asti and the Brachetto red, also a sparkling wine! Did you ever try them?
I had the opportunity to discover this part of Italy thanks to the N&G’s wedding. In my next article I will show you a clip from their wedding. Romantic and delicate. As a Destination Wedding Photographer, I often travel abroad. You recently saw my trip to the Cyclades Islands in Greece and to Reunion Island. Today I’m sharing with you “Gold and Ochre in Piedmont“.
I let my heart be carried away in a warm, yellow and ochre world during this wedding weekend. An incomparable softness overwhelmed me. A feeling of communion with this red earth. During the golden the sunsets, the sun caressed me and painted my surroundings with beautiful deep yellow reflections.
This is what I wanted to convey through the pictures I took of this trip. I wanted to show you the simple beauty of this Piedmontese landscape. The authenticity of the villages of Asti. The stillness of summer. The softness of the cricket chants. The color of the earth. Of gold and ochre, Piedmont you fill my heart with comfort in this cold winter.
I’m not going to pretend that the grim period you’re going through doesn’t affect me. I’m forced to think of you, dear northern Italians. At the heart of your misery. Of your autarky. Italy, Piedmont, Asti. Besieged by a virus of which we still know very little. I would like to remind you that even if winter and its gloom are everywhere, tomorrow will be sunny, you will be beautiful and you will shine with gold and ochre all over the world. So hold tight and draw comfort from the gift I offer you.

“V&F’s Wedding on the Reunion Island” is the second part of V&F’s wedding. After a civil wedding in the heart of the Ardèche region, they decided to head for the Indian Ocean! Yes, off to the southern hemisphere. After many hours on the plane, they finally arrived on the Reunion Island. A travel destination that few people have had the opportunity to visit in their lifetime.
This island is a French overseas territory. A small island lost in the middle of the ocean with a magnificent culture and breathtaking landscapes. That’s why I chose to stay a few days in this paradise. To be honest, my travel pictures are still untouched on my hard drive. The shoemaker always wears the worst shoes, right! When they will be ready to be published… next year…I will make an article to tell you a bit more about our road trip around the island! In the meantime, you can always check out my Instagram. I’ve featured a few stories.
We met a few days earlier to start the festivities on the big and beautiful beach of the Grande Anse between “ardéchois” or “zoreilles” as the locals call it and we enjoyed a beautiful sunset, beer in hand! The atmosphere was perfect. And you know what ? It’s the only time I got in the water in 10 days!!!!

“Lausanne 2020 Wedding Fair” is the second event of the off-season where you could come and meet me or other service providers. Our stand was nestled on the ground floor of the new hall of Beaulieu in the heart of Lausanne. I say “our” because Emmanuelle Cavigelli and I had a joint stand, like we did at the Geneva Wedding Show in 2019. What can I say? These kinds of friendships are special!
Another event, another atmosphere. We wanted to create a cosy, warm place to encourage you to meet and share! I think we made it happen. Thank you Emmanuelle for your ideas and your warm smile! In spite of a somewhat shy edition (the JOJ and the good weather pushed couples to leave the city to spend some time in the mountains. I’m not going to blame them! I would have done the same!) But it worked out better than I thought it would. I had the pleasure of meeting new couples and took the time to chat with them. Some of them met me on Instagram and took advantage of the event to ask me if I could accompany them during this beautiful adventure that is their wedding. Thank you to them, I feel honored. They will recognize themselves when they read this hopefully. Other visitors appreciated what they saw as they walked by and came to meet me! I would also like to say thank you to them! I had the great pleasure of meeting a dozen new couples in 2021!!!

V&F’s Wedding in Ardèche – the first part of an all-out wedding! The first part took place in France in the “Gorges de l’Ardèche” and the second part on the beautiful Reunion Island. I served as a Destination Wedding Photographer or a Wedding Photographer abroad! Why does it (always) sound better in English?
Since September I hadn’t had time to write about my last weddings. The season has been very busy thanks to all the brides and grooms who trusted me! I finished my last wedding at the beginning of November. I was lucky enough to go to Spain. Once again as a Destination Wedding Photographer! Hehe… and then I went on to the Geneva wedding fair which was held the weekend after Palexpo. God, it was stressful to manage everything. That’s the flip side of my life as a Wedding Photographer abroad! But I can guarantee you that the stress of my job doesn’t tarnish the incredible experience of having the bride and groom trust me enough to accompany them abroad to shoot their wedding!
For my first publication of the year, I decided to tell you about this wedding in Ardèche: V&F’s Wedding in Ardèche. There is so much to tell! I knew about this region for having ridden a horse 3 years ago and also for having done an inspirational shoot on the border of the Drôme Provençale. At least I thought I knew it. The truth is that it has so many different facets. Both gentle and hilly, it can sometimes become rugged and wild. Those are the words that came to my mind when I took the road over the canyon to reach Chassier, a small, typical remote village where the bride has her roots. This is also how I felt when I took the wrong road to reach the castle of Sampzon near Ruoms, and had to drive in circles before going down to the estate! It was arid… The wedding took place last June 29th… Doesn’t that mean anything to you? Right in the middle of the heatwave!!!! At 9pm it was still 28 degrees outside!!!! But you know what? I loved everything about that wedding. From beginning to end!
V&F are so adorable. They both have such big hearts. We met through a mutual friend of ours whom I would like to say hi to in passing. We connected right away. The engagement shot was a fun and simple moment. We ended up having a drink on the beach! All the signs were good… you can check it out my next article! The bride and groom’s choices, the invitations made by Cotton Bird, his headband of the Fleurs Dupont, his old family home which saw him grow up, the involvement of his family, the weather and the region… everything! I have so many stars in my eyes when I think back on this wedding, the cicadas’ sound in my heart and the smell of burning earth in my nose… Thank you to both of them for their trust! Next week I will show you their wedding in Reunion Island!
V&F’s Metro Wedding in Ardèche
I wanted to wish everyone a happy New Year. Well, for starters… I hope 2020 will offer you everything you’ve ever dreamed of. I also wanted to give you some warmth and sunshine to start the year. That’s why I’m sharing with you my pictures from my trip to Sifnos. And also a bit of what I experienced there.
When I travel to a country like Italy or Spain, I maintain some control through the comfort of having my car, knowing the language, etc. But in Greece, I couldn’t rely on any linguistic or cultural knowledge. I know what you’re thinking: what do you mean, she’s not fluent in Cyrillic???? 😉
I love flying but everything else is another story…landing, finding a taxi without getting ripped off (the guy tried!), finding my Bnb, not missing my wake up at 4:30 in the morning – I’m a late riser – finding another taxi that won’t try to cheat you…finding my boat. Arriving on the small island, getting my rental car – should I get an insurance or not? Going to my hotel…to end up alone, facing the sea and myself…
And there, the most dreadful moment… being alone. In 33 years, I’d never traveled alone…even more so since the birth of my son Elliot, who’s about to turn five. Five years is a long time…
I was petrified and scared to death when I got on my first plane. The weight of my responsibilities as a mother hit me when I sat in my seat. I started to cry. Scared. Scared that something would happen to my son. Or me. That I’d never see him again. I always wait until the plane lines up on the runway to turn off my phone. It’s a cliche, but I called my mother and she was a great comfort. And I was relieved when the plane took off.
But when I got to my Bnb in Athens, I had to have dinner. So I gathered my courage – I’m not usually very brave – and walked along the beach all the way to the marina. I found myself a small hype restaurant and that’s where I started to enjoy the pleasure of being alone.
And when I finally had to leave… I didn’t feel like going back. I didn’t want to leave my little guesthouse on the beach, my room bathed in light, the smell of bougainvillea and jasmine. The softness of the sun. The white, blue and terracottas colors of these idyllic landscapes. The soft sound of the surf.
When I got up in the morning, I could admire the sea as far as the eye could see. The Aegean Sea. A mythical sea. A water full of mystery. An expanse full of secrets. It shaped my childhood with its tales, stories, and mythology. Every morning, it was a fragment of history that I was lucky enough to caress with my eyes.
During my 4-day stay on the small island of Sifnos, I planned a small tourist tour to discover the jewels of this enclave… Let me take you for a ride.
My Trip to Sifnos
I witnessed a lovely wedding in the Cyclades at the beginning of June. It was held in Sifnos, a beautiful, isolated and authentic Greek island sheltered from tourism. This small haven of peace provided the perfect setting for V&X’s magnificent wedding.
Do you remember what I told you two weeks ago? I mentioned the civil wedding of V&X in Lausanne. A simple ceremony in small committee, just with their loved ones. They made contemporary pictures in the narrow streets of Lausanne. We meet them again for a new article that describes their wonderful orthodox ceremony in Greece.
Their gorgeous wedding in the Cyclades spanned an entire weekend and was divided into several parts: The Pre-Wedding, the Religious Wedding, the Evening Party, and the Day-After Photo Shoot. I will describe the details of this beautiful wedding in the Cyclades as I go along.
On November 9 & 10, 2019, I was present at the 2019 Geneva wedding expo. It was held at Palexpo for the first time. Instead of choosing the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices, the organizers took advantage of the positive economic situation of the Geneva Automnales, which was held for two weeks very close to the airport. This year’s edition of the Geneva Wedding Show was a springboard and a challenge for the SeMarier team. We arrived in Geneva and had to build a stage from scratch to host a 40-minute show in front of thousands of spectators over 2 days!
Geneva wedding expo 2019
I laid my belongings in this new environment for the first time on Friday November 8 in Geneva for the 2019 Geneva Wedding Show in Palexpo. I felt pretty small in such a large hall. What a long way I’ve come in such a short time…Last year I was exhibiting alone on a 9m2 space in Lausanne and I felt like I needed some change. People who know me are aware that I like to connect with others and create strong synergies. That’s why Emmanuelle Cavigelli “Wedding Planner”, Leonardo Villiger “Wedding Destination Filmmaker“, and I set up our stand on a nice 18m2 space. Emmanuelle designed a warm, modern and soft decor in natural, pink tones. Our stationery was provided by Emilie Marchesi “EM Créations” and the little sweets to eat were prepared by Ined “Sweet Cake”.
During this intense weekend of the 2019 Geneva Wedding Show, I had the pleasure of meeting future brides and grooms who were enthusiastic about my work and whom I hope to see again in 2020! I would like to thank those I met who trusted me to create the very first witness of a long and happy life together: their wedding photo shoot. Of course, I took some pictures of our stand that I am happy to share with you! Leonardo covered this wonderful event and made a short video of it! Our stand is featured at some point and you can even me!
Special thanks to Christel from “C&C Maquillage” and Amandine who were also present at the Geneva Wedding Show for my gorgeous beauty makeover! They were the ones who took care of me on my wedding day and 7 years later, they are still at the top! You will be able to discover their work in a future article: The Lovers of the Black Lake.
Geneva wedding expo 2019
Just a week earlier, we were in the middle of the Mediterranean sea on the Cyclades Islands for a beautiful wedding and my very first solo trip to Sifnos. This time we were in the heart of the capital of the Canton of Vaud, Lausanne, for the civil wedding of V&X.
The sun was hitting hard in the middle of the day, so we chose to enjoy the shade of the old buildings of the cathedral district to capture this moment and take a few pictures of the couples.
We then joined the family of the fiancés and I had the pleasure to meet their relatives in the Place de la Palud. We walked into the old building and celebrated their civil marriage. Congratulations were expressed on the square, and we finally took the road to Pully, the docks, and the promenade. As the first family members arrived at the cocktail party, we took advantage of the sunshine to take a few more pictures by the lake, before toasting to the health of the newlyweds.
I enjoyed the day spent in their company, discovering a new couple, being there both for their civil marriage in Lausanne and also for their beautiful wedding in the Cyclades. Meeting their family in small groups and seeing them all again a few days later! Two atmospheres, two locations, different outfits. But the same smiles! The same love! And the same pleasure.
At last, I will let you enjoy the pictures of their civil marriage and I suggest you discover the pictures of their religious wedding in Greece in my next article. Thanks again to these two beautiful people for their trust and for the unique and intense moments we shared.
